Chicken Pepper Fry

My parents came over for lunch today. My father insisted on having dosas made by Mahesh. I made a tamil style Chicken curry and Amma’s fish cury  which we felt would go well with the dosas. My father’s suggestion that instead of potatoes we make a chicken filling for the dosas got me thinking. Just then Mahesh mentioned a chilli chicken fry recipe that he saw on some Tamil channel. We decided to make it and put it in the dosas. I did the prep and Mahesh made the dish. We have decided to call it Pepper Fry!

Ingredients

500 gms chicken thigh boneless [cut into bite sized pieces]

2 onions thinly sliced

1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

3 sprigs of curry leaves

4 tsps of pepper powder

8-10 slit green chillies

Salt

Oil

Process

Heat about 2 tbsps of oil and then add the curry leaves. Fry the onions, the ginger-garlic paste, and chillies till they are slightly brown. Add the chicken and salt and let it cook. The chicken will release a lot of water at this point. When the chicken is nearly cooked, added the pepper powder. Garnish with chopped coriander. It tasted awesome and we felt it will go well with rasam/sambhar and rice.
