Dash & Pinch

I use ‘dash’ and ‘pinch’ while sharing recipes rather loosely. Last week, I received gifts from my brother and sister-in-law who live in the US. They sent me a set of measures – spoons and cups.

Spoons and Cups

I was super excited when I saw them.

I realised the true measure of dash and pinch! Can’t refer to them loosely any longer.

  1. Hahahaha. I got a similar set of spoons in the US to ensure the food ends up tasting better (whatever was I thinking then!). However, post the initial excitement, I soon got confused between the tea spoon and table spoon (having never drunk tea before), notwithstanding the pinch and dash. Needless to say I went back to the old way of measuring things by hand and fingers! Given your passion for food, I hope you have a much better run with the measuring cups and spoons!

🙂 The exact measures help when baking. Don’t plan to use them on a day to day basis.
